TRAINS travelling to the city have been suspended between Hornsby and Epping, causing traffic chaos for commuters heading to the CBD.
Urgent overhead wiring repairs at Epping caused the service interruption on the Northern Line, with buses to replace trains.
CityRail has advised customers to allow for extra travel time, with delays of up to 15 minutes reported.
A train shuttle service is in operation between Epping and Chatswood via Macquarie Park, with buses also supplementing trains going back from the city between Epping and Hornsby.
Trains travelling to the city on the Newcastle and Central Coast line are operating through the North Shore Line, missing stops at Epping, Eastwood and Strathfield.
