WHILE you were sleeping, North Korea again managed to hold off on destroying the world and a British social worker admitted she was lying when she 'killed off' her family members one by one to take extra sick days.

The situation in North Korea continued to escalate, with the rogue state loading two missile launchers and warning Russia and the UK to evacuate their embassies. The flap prompted Cuba’s Fidel Castro to break his nine-month silence and urge ally N Korea to calm down. And if that wasn’t earth-shattering enough, Russia was rattled by a 6.2-magnitude quake near the border with N Korea.

In the UK, a social worker lost her job after confessing she made up the deaths of father, mother, uncle, aunt, brother and ex-husband so she could get time off for their fake funerals.
