TWO people were robbed on the street at knifepoint within five minutes of each other in inner city Sydney last night.
Just before 11pm a 26-year-old man walking along Riley Street in Darlinghurst was held up by a man wielding a knife demanding his money and mobile.
After handing over his belongings the victim ran from the area and reported the incident to police.
Five minutes passed when a 28-year-old man walking along Burton Street in Darlinghurst was robbed in similar circumstances.
The offender was last seen on Palmer Street before the second victim raised the alarm at a nearby police station.
Police searched the area but were unable to find the knifeman who they believe is responsible for both crimes.
The man is described as being about 170 to 180cm tall and of average build with an olive complexion.
He had facial stubble and tribal tattoos on the back of both hands and at the time was wearing a black hooded jumper and blue jeans.
