A MAN shot during a fight in Sydney's inner west last month has made a plea for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.

The 21-year-old, who does not wish to be named, was shot during an altercation shortly after midnight at Strathfield Park in Strathfield on February 8.

The man drove himself to Lidcombe where he was found by police and taken to hospital.

He has since recovered from his injuries and recently helped detectives put together a video reconstruction of the shooting, police said.

The 21-year-old said a number of people were at Strathfield Park at the time of the shooting.

"All I ask is that they do the right thing and contact police, so the people who did this to me can be brought to justice," he said in a statement with NSW Police.

Detective Sergeant Karl Leis from Flemington Local Area Command said police were confident they would catch those responsible.

"Nevertheless, we would still like to speak to anyone with information that may help us, particularly those who we believe were at the park on the night of the shooting," he said.

Det Sgt Leis also reminded the public they could provide information anonymously and securely.

Medich case to call on witnesses

MORE than half a dozen witnesses will be called to give evidence in accused murderer Ron Medich's committal hearing.

The hearing is due to begin on August 5 and could run for as long as six weeks.

The list of 13 witnesses will be raised at a brief mention in Central Local Court tomorrow.

The committal hearing is expected to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the prosecution case against the 64 year old who is accused on conspiring to murder conman Michael McGurk on September 3, 2009.

Mr Medich is accused of hiring his lieutenant, Lucky Gattellari, to organise the professional hit on McGurk. Mr Gattellari is alleged to have contracted two men to do the job - Haissam Safetli and Christopher Estephan.

McGurk was shot in the back of the head as he sat in his car outside his Mosman home with his young son.

Mr Safetli and Mr Estephan have pleaded not guilty and will appear at the committal hearing alongside Mr Medich.

Prosecutors allege Medich paid over $250,000 to have Mr McGurk killed after their business dealings soured.

Mr Gattellari, who has pleaded guilty to accessory before the fact to murder, is expected to be one of the witnesses at the committal, together with Senad Kaminic, who has pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact of murder.

Mr Gattellari and Mr Kaminic will be sentenced in May.
